Book 4 Kickstarter Launching June 17!
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Jun 06, 2022 at 09:48:12 PM

You heard it first!

After more than two years in development, we're excited to announce that our next Kickstarter will be launching on June 17 to fund the completion of Book 4! We have more of this book done than ever before, with only a couple pages left to ink and about 15 pages left to colour! Our goal will be to deliver all rewards in August/September.

What to expect

This next story is going to be totally different from our past books. We are going deeper into Morgan's body than ever before, and we might even be exploring other bodies too 🤔! This story will also feature our largest cast yet - we're talking millions of new characters. The story will explore friendship, glory, and loss. Seriously, you would never have expected our bodies to be capable of such emotion.

You can check out a preview of Book #4 here.

I'm also happy to show you a work-in-progress of the Collector's Sleeve for Book 4, drawn by Toronto-local Shawn Daley. Anyone feeling the Animorphs vibes?

Morgan's Organs Updates!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Oct 06, 2020 at 08:22:19 PM

Hey Morganauts! It's been a crazy year, hasn't it? Though the quarantine does give inspiration for a future story... Anyways, let's get to it, I have four big updates to share. Let's start with the biggest!

#1: Morgan's Organs has been optioned for development as a television series!

You heard it first! I'm excited to share that earlier this year, Morgan's Organs was optioned for development by Blonde Mamba Productions and One Day Entertainment to be produced as a film property. It's been a very exciting backdrop to an otherwise stressful year, but this opportunity has really helped keep my mind busy during quarantine. Blonde Mamba develops and produces projects geared toward Gen Z audiences across a range of platforms. One Day Entertainment is a diversified entertainment and media company that most notably provides management services to Yes Theory (5M+ YouTube subscriptions, 1B+ views).

Now, my head might be in the clouds, but let's bring ourselves back to reality. Optioned for development is the first step in a VERY long process. We're not a television series... yet. Now, we need to find showrunners, producers, talent, and of course, a network that wants to share our content with audiences. So, where are we REALLY at right now?

Well, I'm very excited to say that we have landed Animation Director Joel Moser (also a Kickstarter backer!) to be involved in the project. Joel has some incredible experience, including directing episodes of Big Mouth and BoJack Horseman. Plus, he's been a helpful advisor in some of my series writing. Very happy to have Joel involved!

That's where we stand at the moment. The team is working hard to build our team further before we look to pitch to studios. We've actually had some interest from some big names in the industry which really gives me hope, but now, I just need to be patient. I've been at this since 2013, and while all I want is to be able to say Morgan's Organs is a television show, I'm not there just yet. I'll just focus on what I CAN do to help the team's efforts, and that means continuing to create comic books in order to prove the concept and grow the audience!

Thank you to every Kickstarter backer across our 3 campaigns - you are the reason this series has become something more than just words I put to paper.

#2: Morgan's Organs Book 4 is in progress!

If you follow us on social media, you'll see that we've been posting some progress pictures for Book 4. But for anyone that doesn't, I'm happy to share that Book 4 is well in development. The script is complete and we're working on pages. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the cover for Book 4 below! We're going deeper into Morgan's body than we've ever gone before. And we might even be going further from Morgan's body than we've ever gone before too...

Help us build excitement for the next Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of Book 4 by following us on our pre-launch campaign page. Click "notify me on launch" and help us maximize our followers before launch. And if you have any friends that you think would love this series, share the link with them so that they can be notified when we launch too! I want to reach at least 100 followers, if not more!

I'm not sure exactly when we are planning to launch the Kickstarter campaign, but it will likely be in mid-2021. We're in no rush to get the book released (the world has far bigger things to focus on), and so we're waiting until more of the book is complete and life is looking a bit more normal before we launch the campaign.

We'll continue to post preview pages of Book 4 on our website, and our next update will let you know when we have more pages to share.

#3: Morgan's Organs Book 3 has been nominated for self-published comic of the year in Canada!

Another fun little update - Book 3 has been nominated for the Gene Day Award for Self-Published Comics in Canada as part of the Joe Shuster awards. This is our biggest recognition for the series yet, so it's definitely been motivating to know that we're on the right track.

We should find out later this month the recipient of the award. Congratulations to all nominees!

#4: We've been working with a voice artist on voice samples!

I've had the opportunity earlier this year to work with local Toronto voice artist Rob O'Dwyer (also a Kickstarter backer!) on voice samples of the various characters to help us with pitching to potential showrunners, producers, networks, etc.! Seriously, this guy is talented. Rob's got a wide range of personality and expression, and he's really shown a knack for understanding the characters. Below is a sample of his impression of Meats the Stomach from one of my favourite bits of dialogue in Book 2!

That's all for updates! Stay tuned for more developments on Morgan's Organs as a television series, Book 4 progress, and more.

In the meantime, please do share this series with your friends and help us build the audience! Follow us on social media at the below links, including the Instagram accounts of our creative team, Penciller/Inker Robert Jennex, and Colourist Tyler Kelting.

Hey Morganauts! Here with a quick, exciting update (at least for me). We recently switched our website host to Shopify and I'm excited to launch the new website! Take a peek and let me know what you think!

https://morgansorgans.com/

Our books are available for purchase through the website - so if you're still looking for last minute holiday gifts, Morgan's Organs makes for a great stocking stuffer!

We plan to add more features and pages to the website in the near future, including behind-the-scenes details about the series, fan-submitted content and a page for our artists to share more of their work.

Happy holidays!
